Growing Up

Aiden has been saying and doing some pretty funny things lately.

For the past few days, Aiden has been wanting to watch "Cowboy", also known as Toy Story. He loves it. This pic is a very concerned boy when in Toy Story 2, Andy drops Woody because of a split seam. It was very traumatic.

We got this hat for Aiden LAST year, when it actually fit his head. But, he loves it and wears it around the house and in public. No shame. The best was when I went in to check on him in bed two nights ago to see that he had smuggled the hat in, put it on his head, and fell asleep with it on (Notice how its on side-ways! Even better).

Two days ago, I was having a rough day so I went shopping and bought a couple shirts. I brought them home and tried them on. Aiden walked in and said "Oh, WOW! I yike it Mommy! I yike it!" (I like it!). Made my day.

And last night, at 8:00, Aiden stood up and said "Night Night, Mommy. Bye bye, Daddy." And walked himself up to bed. I followed just to lift him in his crib. He asked me to sing him "I am a Child of God" then went right to sleep. I know, I'm spoiled.

And he has started doing this (sometimes it results in a flip-over hand stand):

So, school starts on Tuesday. I'm physically prepared to go back, but not mentally. It has been an excellent break, and I only have about 4 months until I graduate, so it's do-able.
Also, as a big relief, I FINALLY memorized my concerto! Prokofiev's Piano Concerto no. 2. I have a competition next month, but more importantly, my recital at the end of March, that I need to be ready for. So, this is a good start. This means that my entire grad recital is now memorized, not perfect, but memorized.

So cute! I love his face while watching the movie. Savannah used to say things like that when I would go shopping with her, it was always a great self esteem booster. She has also looked at something I was wearing while I was deciding if I wanted to wear it or not and she has said um, mom, that doesn't look very good on you. Awesome. Kids are the best.
